J.G. Faherty ist ein gefeierter amerikanischer Autor, der vor allem für seine Beiträge in den Genres Horror für junge Erwachsene, Science-Fiction und Fantasy bekannt ist. Mit einem Schreibstil, der von leiser, dunkler Spannung bis hin zu überdrehter, komisch-makabrer Gewaltdarstellung reicht, hat Faherty sechs Romane, neun Novellen und mehr als 50 Kurzgeschichten verfasst. Seine Werke brachten ihm Nominierungen für den Bram Stoker Award® und den ITW Thriller Award ein.
Die Faszination Fahertys für Horror und das Übernatürliche reicht bis in seine Kindheit zurück, in der er einen Großteil seiner Zeit in einem Friedhof aus dem 17. Jahrhundert verbringwnd. Dieses frühe Erleben des Gruseligen und Geheimnisvollen hat seine Schriftstellerei sicherlich beeinflusst, die oft Elemente des Übernatürlichen und Unbekannten enthält.
