CJ Carmichael ist eine sehr angesehene Autorin mit über 45 Werken in den Genres Mystery und Romantik. Sie wurde zweimal für den prestigeträchtigen RITA Romance Writers Award nominiert, sowie mit dem Bestseller’s Best Honor und dem Romantic Suspense Award ausgezeichnet. Bevor sie ihre erfolgreiche Schriftstellerkarriere startete, war Carmichael Buchhalterin, verließ jedoch die Welt der doppelten Buchführung und Einkommensteuerformulare, als sie 2002 ihren ersten Roman „Together by Christmas“ bei Harlequin Romance veröffentlichte. Seitdem hat sie mehr als dreißig weitere Romane bei Harlequin und mehrere bei Tule Publishing veröffentlicht, die ihre beliebten Western-Liebesromane herausgebracht haben. Neben ihren traditionell veröffentlichten Werken hat Carmichael auch mehrere cosy Krimis selbst veröffentlicht.
Wenn Carmichael nicht schreibt, genießt sie es, Zeit mit ihrem Ehemann und ihren erwachsenen Töchtern zu verbringen. Die Familie liebt die Natur und kann oft beim Wandern in den Rocky Mountains in der Nähe von Calgary angetroffen werden. Sie genießen auch Zeit in ihrem Sommerhaus am Flathead Lake, Montana, das seit vielen Jahren Teil ihrer Familie ist.
Carmichael hat über 50 Romane geschrieben, darunter zwei Krimiserien sowie Romantik und Frauenfiktion. Drei ihrer Romane wurden für den Romance Writers of America RITA Award nominiert, darunter „A Bramble House Christmas“.
