Andre Norton, geboren als Alice Mary Norton im Jahr 1912, war eine einflussreiche amerikanische Autorin, die für ihre Beiträge zu den Genres Science-Fiction und Fantasy bekannt ist. Sie war eine produktive Schriftstellerin, die unter verschiedenen Pseudonymen schrieb, wie Andrew North und Allen Weston. Ihr gewählter Name Andre Norton wurde weitgehend anerkannt.
Die Liebe zum Schreiben von Norton begann in ihrer Teenagerzeit, inspiriert durch eine fesselnde Lehrkraft an ihrer Highschool.
